December 10-19, 2006 At the ancient Mayan ruin site of Chichen Itza, on the side of the structure known as 'The Platform of the Jaguar and the Eagle', there are carved reliefs that contain images of the jaguar holding a human heart in its mouth and an eagle with a human heart grasped in its talons. What these symbols seem to represent has been the source for much interest, interpretation, discussion, fear and even distaste towards the ancient Mayan traditions. Perhaps there is a deeper and richer symbolism to these images. Four years ago, I visited another ancient Mayan site called Chiccana in the southern part of the Yucatan. As at many Mayan sites, there were one or more persons at the entrance gates offering to guide me through the ruins. The difference this time was that the person offering to be my guide was a 9-year-old boy. I felt a tingle as I accepted, and a feeling that this young man had something special to offer. His knowledge of the site and of the ancient Mayan ways was gradually revealed as he guided me through the site. He told me that his father was a guide at the other larger and better-known sites close by, where the tourist hotels were located. I was soon to know that no other guide could offer the gift this young boy had to give. |

He held my hand as we walked through the jungle pathways that connected the temples and buildings. As we
walked, he asked me what I was feeling. There was a point when I connected with the energy of the human
sacrifice. I felt what I imagine most would feel in that moment; fear, disgust, shame and more. We continued
to walk, holding hands, and together we passed through what I can only describe as an 'energetic bubble' into
a new and greater understanding. As we crossed this 'bubble of fear' I had a vision of something; which began
a journey that took me to 10 other Mayan sites throughout the Yucatan region of Mexico and Guatemala in the
following weeks. This journey of understanding and healing continues to this day. The little boy and the
innocence he represented helped me to see what a true warrior is and to know the real meaning of the word
"courage". This is what I saw:
"A real warrior is one who walks through the world with their heart exposed, and who continues to keep it exposed under all circumstances. This is the bravest action of all; the true path of the warrior." It is with this understanding, and with everlasting gratitude to my young master teacher, that the journey outlined in the following pages is being offered. Part 1 of this 2-part journey will take us to 7 incredible locations in the northern part of the Yucatan and through the first 5 of the feminine chakras as outlined by Drunvalo Melchizedek in his book "The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life". Part 2 will take us to the remaining chakra sites and other amaing locations and will take place in 2007. This amazing journey is also described in detail by Ken Page on his website. I am also grateful that my friend, Dr. Terry Willard, has agreed to offer his one-of-a-kind skills with Flower Essences as a uniquely personal part of the journey through the chakras. Terry will work individually with each participant, and collectively with the group, to prepare specific flower essences to enhance the experience of each of the sites we visit. Also joining us will be master body worker, Anosha Delmar, and energy worker, Glory Cato, who will offer their incredible skills at appropriate times throughout the 10 day journey. All of this combines to create a journey that brings together elements of fun, adventure, ceremony, grace and healing; while as a group we will join together and accomplish something truly worthwhile and lasting. Please join us, as you feel called.
